Eddie Redcliffe is a detective temporarily assigned to the Deadloch Police to investigate a spate of murders that was originally believed to begin with Trent Latham, but actually began with Sam O'Dwyer. She is from Darwin, though she felt that no one in Darwin wanted to associate her since her partner Bushy was believed to be killed by a crocodile. Despite originally handling the Deadloch investigation poorly by being offensive to everyone and trying to find the quickest way to finish the case even if the conclusion wasn't correct, she became easier to work with after confessing to Dulcie Collins that her circumstances in Darwin were bad. Detective Redcliffe is smart but unprofessional (This often gets her into trouble.) Detective Redcliffe is confident and outspoken. This is used to hide her guilt and Trauma about Bushy.
