Noun coprophage (plural coprophages) (zoology) A living organism that feeds on feces or fecal matter.

Word I coined just now that combines linguistics/linguist and autism. I got that etymology autism. Blame this page on that.
Mulder Scully Romance
Mythical Arc
Term coined by X Files fans to descibe an overarching plot usually creating a mythological narrative.
This is something that already existed but X Files fandom gave it a name.
Monster of the Week
Term coined by X Files fans to descibe one off episodes, usually focusing on either a literal or figurative monster
One off episodes revolving around a stand alone case which is unrelated to the ongoing/overarching plot (or mytharc hyuk hyk) of the show/season. Involves some kind of monster guy cryptid thing
Subgenre of X Files fanfiction where Mulders agonies (emotional and physical) is a key element. He honestly does it to himself. He is a woeful specimen.
Literally “No Romance”
Term used in early X Files fandom to describe fans who did not ship MSR
The neurodiversity paradigm is a framework for understanding human brain function that considers the diversity within sensory processing, motor abilities, social comfort, cognition, and focus as neurobiological differences. This diversity falls on a spectrum of neurocognitive differences. The neurodiversity movement views autism as a natural part of human neurological diversity - not a disease or a disorder, just "a difference".
The neurodiversity paradigm includes autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), developmental speech disorders, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, dysnomia, intellectual disability, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia and Tourette syndrome. It argues that these conditions should not be cured.
I decided to put all of them here rather than seperately list them because of reasons
Derived from "Relationshipping"
Although we owe a lot of fandom and shipping culture to early (female) Star Trek fans, this term was actually coined by the X Files fandom. Early X Files fans were split between NOROMOs and MSR shippers.
