A FANZINE
I'm a Medical Doctor
a Dana Scully mixtape
This page is very much a WIP
This playlist/zine was meant to be a quick easy thing for me to whip up for Hallozine 2025, but, in typical Beak fashion, I put too much time and overthinking into it.
It was originally my intention to write breakdowns of why I was including certain songs, but I have chosen SO MANY SONGS (31 all up now) that I have more than run out of space to do this in the zine so I'm putting it here on this hand website woooo!
WHOOPS THE ADHD TOO MUCH GENE STRIKES AGAIN! I've combined some pages with songs by the same artist on some pages to fit as much as I could!
I have been intending on making an X Files FanShrine for YEARS and this was a really good excuse to finally start putting one together, SO all the behind the scenes headcanons and reasonings for some of the songs and some of the LORE behind their inclusion will gradually and eventually be accessible at the following link:
This playlist:
- assumes that Dana Scully (~and Fox Mulder~) is neurodivergent and depressive (as my tumblr friends and I called it back in the day, I am "disabling the text")
- Is full of soppy stupid love songs filled with limerance, longing, yearning and the occasional narrative (mis)assumption of unrequitedness
- Feminist and mad about it (in protest, as a statement) (although I did remove a lot of this from the final version)
- has religious under(over)tones
- is very deliberately and intentionally ordered for narrative and (hopefully) good flow.
- contains a quite a few Aussie artists
